This is a great shot. I noticed that Paula is holding a cat--must be Cecelia? You see Fella behind Mary Jane. The handsome guy is Uncle Tim, still at military attention it seems. And Chris with a table leg??? What is up with that?
Check out this link for Silver Creek nostalgia: Norm's Garage (really!) The Town of Hanover pictures has a whole bunch you will probably recognize at least partially: Buffalo St (those are really interesting); the High Bridge; the footbridge, Ludeman's; Patton Electric and more!
Also, Weenie is mentioned a couple of times here: North Olean History Search for Flynn or Weenie. It's fun!
Happy birthday Judy! I hope you have a great day. I'm guessing you were maybe 3 on this birthday (give or take) so Chris has been driving truck for just about 40 years.
Just wanted to add that I've been remembering the day Judy was born. We had to go to Valvo's and spend the night (I think) --at least those of us who were in school. I think maybe Mary Jane was with Nanny and Weenie maybe?? Naturally it was the end of the year so we only went to school long enough to pick up our report cards. I think I remember I didn't have my own clothes to wear to school so had to wear something from the Valvo girls--a dress or something probably not that appropriate for the last day of school when I was 9 years old and in 4th grade. I didn't like it much but I knew Mom was having the baby so I was a little anxious and excited.
I was sad to hear that Kathy had to have Nolan Ryan euthanized. We all know how hard it is to lose a pet, Kathy--this is to say "we are here for you"! It brings to mind some of the other family pets we have loved and lost. Does anyone remember Skippy? My recollection is that he was a raggedy mutt that often chased cars and bicycles down Dennison Road. I do not remember what happened to him in the end. There's Longfellow and Cecelia; Benny; Harry. For the life of me I cannot remember the names of Chris' dogs besides Weezy. And Judy's Fenway. Brain cramp on those names but here's to those 4 legged creatures we have loved and lost. They were good friends. This is Sweeney, Dallas Cowboy and Nolan Ryan. Cheers.
PS: Ivan and Max were the dogs I was trying to remember (thanks Chris) and Judy's Cassie--I have probably not spelled it right.
