Easter 1963. Easter seems way too early this year. I think we are going to Kutztown for the weekend because Amy has to work Easter Sunday. I hope the Easter bunny doesn't go to Gloucester by mistake!
I don't remember Easter celebrations too specifically except getting new hats (at Ludeman's maybe?) and our pictures taken for the newspaper Easter Sunday out in front of the church. What do you recall?
Have a great weekend.

My recollections of Easter are limited also. I remember it being very strict during Lent with the whole no meat on Friday thing. I remember Mom making sure that when I stayed over night at Shari Wilson's I didn't get any meat on Friday. Mrs. Wilson would make tuna noodle casserole just for me.
I remember the hats... They were so pretty and we all wanted to wear the same one. We didn't get a new hat every year, but the hats were gently put away each year and I think there would be one new one and I think we would draw straws for who got that one, then the others would be given out. I remeber pocketbooks and gloves too. Church was a pretty big deal. I also remember getting our picture taken outside church by the newspaper. I don't know if it was every year, or just once.
Mom told me that she and Dad would count the number of jellybeans that were put in each of our baskets to make sure the number was the same. I think we counted.
I remember the butter being in the shape of a lamb on the table for Easter dinner.
I also remember Mom having us come in from playing outside on Good Friday from 1-3p.m. Mom wanted us to sit quietly and remember that Christ was walking with the cross during that time. It always seemed to be a sunny day...strange that I remember that.
